Kerri Walsh Jennings Announces the Start of the 2013 AVP Season on the Today Show. AVP Announces Location!
Costa Mesa, CA - Olympic beach volleyball star Kerri Walsh Jennings appeared on NBC’s Today Show this morning, and announced that the kick-off event for the 2013 AVP Professional Beach Volleyball Tour will take place August 17. Though she did not mention the location, the AVP is excited to announce that Salt Lake City will be hosting the first event of the 30th Anniversary Tour August 17 and 18.
The three-time gold medalist, who last weekend welcomed the arrival of her daughter Scout Margery Jennings, is just one of the high profile star players who is excited for the 2013 AVP Pro Season. Brazilian star Natalia and Canadian Sarah Pavan top scored for Unilever with 22 points each while Sollys / Nestle’s Sheilla recorded 17. Unilever’s setter Fofão, received the VivaVôlei trophy after the game for her courageous play having played on in spite of an injury in her right calf.
