So what exactly is the Gold Series? Don’t fret, we’ve got all the details here. We’ll walk you through all the facets that make the Gold Series bigger and better.
Prize Money
Gold Series tournaments give AVP athletes the opportunity to earn more prize money. The purse amounts for the 2019 Gold Series is as follows:
- New York City Open- $300,000
- Manhattan Beach Open- $300,000
- Chicago Championships- $300,000
Points
Gold Series also gives AVP athletes the opportunity to earn more AVP points than your typical tournament. These point values are based off the size of the purse and an athletes’ finish.
Fan Experience
So what does the Gold Series mean for the fans? Let’s just say you’re not going to want to miss any of these! Each tournament will have an elevated fan experience with new surprises that make them the ultimate day of fun in the sun. Since the Gold Series has more prize money and more points for the athletes, they have extra motivation to attend which means the fans will be treated to some of the fiercest beach volleyball competition on the sand featuring our country’s very best talent.
