Brooke Sweat attended college at Flordia Gulf Coast University, where she played outside hitter. Sweat left FGCU as the career leader in kills and also recorded over 1000 kills and digs.

Sweat began her AVP career in Miami in 2007. In 2013, Sweat, with partner Jennifer Fopma, won the Huntington Beach Open. In addition, Sweat was named the 2013 AVP Defensive Player of the Year. She also claimed a bronze medal at the 2013 FIVB Berlin Grand Slam. Sweat will be competing alongside Lauren Fendrick in 2014.

Favorite thing about beach volleyball: “I enjoy the atmosphere and the intimacy of beach volleyball. Love that I am constantly learning (about the game, myself and others).”

Something people would be surprised to know about you: “Born and raised in Ft. Myers, Florida – moved to California in 2012. First volleyball player in FGCU history. Started playing beach volleyball after college. I don’t like lettuce. Married Nick Sweat in 2007.”

Role Models: “I’ve been blessed with the best parents a girl could ask for! I appreciate the way they raised me and my three siblings. I don’t know where I’d be without the guidance, love and support from my amazing parents.”

 

2014: Brooke Sweat came in 2nd place at the AVP St. Petersburg Open with partner Lauren Fendrick.
