AVPFirst Community initiatives

At the heart of AVPFirst is a passion and desire to grow the sport of beach volleyball on a national level. We target cities and communities not traditionally associated with beach volleyball. AVPFirst’s community initiatives provide access, opportunity and resources to support the establishment of programs specifically designed to engage local adults as key leaders and to create positive, healthy activities for children.

The AVPFirst Community Corner Program and our Community League Play initiatives are typically children’s first exposure to the sport of beach volleyball. These programs work in tandem to create lasting impressions and a life long connection to the sport of beach volleyball for the participants and their families. See below for more information.

Community Corner Program

  • Partnerships with local youth organizations in conjunction with each AVP Pro Tour stop
  • Integration of AVP Pro athletes and coaches into the program
  • Introduction of beach volleyball to hundreds of underserved youth and their families each year through a series of training experiences
  • Growing the game while creating goodwill and lifelong fans
  • Positive messaging and stadium court experiences for kids

Community League Play

  • Investing resources in participating community corner organizations
  • Providing infrastructure for 10 week, beach volleyball leagues
  • Community volunteer training and empowerment
  • Positive and safe environments for play in urban communities
  • Special events and training sessions with AVP athletes & coaches
  • Integration of community athletes into AVPFirst Academies and National Championship Qualifying Tournaments
