Event Details

The AVP adds a new stop to the 2018 Tour and surprises fans with the AVP Hawaii Invitational, Presented By Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA).  The athletes and fans return to the Hawaiian Islands for this new event – an international invitational that will bring together the top male and female beach volleyball athletes.  Partnering with the HTA, Hawaii’s lead tourism agency, the AVP will be building the beach festival experience in the heart of Oahu, right along the beaches of Fort DeRussy, Waikīkī.  With many AVP athletes being Hawaii natives, it’s a guarantee the Hawaii Invitational will excite fans & athletes and prove to be an event for the books!

The 2018 Hawaii Invitational, Presented by HTA will take place Saturday & Sunday and consist of a double-elimination tournament made up of 8 teams per gender- 4 international teams through invitation, 2 AVP teams through qualification, and 2 AVP teams through invitation.  The 2 AVP teams (per gender) will receive an invitation based on their best finishes in two of three 2018 AVP Gold Series events.  See where the athletes are in the race to Hawaii with the AVP Gold Series Standings, brought to you by Truly Spiked & Sparkling.

Prior to the double-elimination tournament, on Friday there will be the Waikiki event of the King of the Court Crown Series.  The King of the Court Crown Series is a 4-stop series including Netherlands, Belgium, Waikiki and Huntington Beach, and will be a formatted tournament similar to the fast-paced match-play volleyball players have grown up on.  Learn more about the King of the Court Crown Series here and, specifically, the two events powered by the AVP here.

Unfortunately, due to port closure because of Hurricane Olivia, there will be no livestreaming or live scoring for the King of the Court event.  Follow the AVP on Twitter for score updates and results.
