AVP DASHBOARD

Which AVP 2022 Stops are the Athletes Most Excited For?

 |

A new AVP schedule means new stops all over the country. Which one are you most excited about? For me, it’s gotta be Atlantic City. I’ve never been there, and I’ve heard that the Jersey Shore in the summertime is mega fun. Just ask Snooki; that girl had lots of fun. I also have to give some love to Hermosa Beach because it’s basically my backyard. Hard to beat that commute.

With the addition of new city stops all over the country, I just had to find out which the athletes were most excited about. Happy to hear they’re all over the place.

John Hyden

I’m gonna have to go with the Big Daddy of them all, MBO. With so many past players showing up to watch, family and friends all coming out, it’s really the apex of beach volleyball.

Casey Patterson

Manhattan Beach and Phoenix. I’m always excited for another chance for a plaque on the Pier. But I’m also really excited to go back to Arizona. The Phoenix area is full of incredible youth players at such a high level. It’s good for the sport to visit those cities.

Taryn Kloth

AVP Chicago because it’s the closest stop to my family/friends and I love having them there to support in person!

Paul Lotman

I hate to give you an obvious answer but Austin is a great place to start the season. Barton Springs, BBQ, and Rainey/6th street are tough to beat.

Travis Mewhirter

Denver! Never been but only heard the best things about Denver, and I’ve been obsessed with mountains and backpacking so might be a combo trip.

Kelley Kolinske

Chicago is hands down the AVP stop I’m always most excited for! My dad is from Chicago, so my family always has a huge family reunion during that tournament. Cousins, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents… it’s just the best! And not to mention it is such a special tournament as it was where I got engaged in 2019! One of the best days of my life! So Chicago has a very special place in my heart.

Logan Webber

I’m definitely excited for the Muskegon stop. It’s been a really long time since there’s been a tournament with that much significance anywhere close to home for me.

Kristen Nuss

I am most excited for the New Orleans stop! A big AVP tournament in my hometown?! I am ECSTATIC! Super excited to see the Louisiana turnout and support.

Sarah Sponcil

I’m so stoked for AVP Austin! It was my first real AVP back in 2018. The fans showed up with so much energy! It rained! So many great memories, and ready to make some more there.

Taylor Sander

I’m excited for Austin! It’s my first AVP! I can’t wait to soak it all in. I know Austin has an amazing volleyball scene so the fans will for sure support.

Molly Turner

FOR SURE Chicago. Always! Because I’m from there and my family and friends come out.

Chaim Schalk

This year I’m most excited for Chicago. The atmosphere there is incredible. I really think it’s the perfect display of beach volley in the middle of a beautiful city. Can’t wait to head back and contend for a title!

Kelly Claes

Manhattan!!! I want my name on the pier!!!

Tri Bourne

Hard to say. I want to go back to back in the MBO (3peat 4 Trev). I’m really excited to see if Phoenix is going to be as cool as it sounds. But at the same time, the Atlanta night matches were just so much fun!

Mark Schuermann

New Orleans!! The site of my first AVP. The things I remember most fondly from that weekend… Friday got rained out, I met the Wannabes, Rosie was my first Finals introduction, I got yelled at by three people (thanks for the feedback), and I locked in my first long-term contract. Also, this year in NOLA will be my first AVP as a married man (see author).
