AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour names DripDrop as
Exclusive Hydration Partner
COSTA MESA, Calif. (May 21, 2015) – The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP), the premiere professional beach volleyball tour in the U.S., announced today that DripDrop has been added to the AVP’s growing roster of national partners, naming the doctor-developed hydration solution as the exclusive Hydration Partner of the AVP.
As part of the national partnership, DripDrop will be the exclusive hydration option offered to all AVP athletes during competition and will be included in national television advertising and at special on-site activations during all seven of the AVP’s tournaments across the United States in addition to the AVP operated FIVB St. Petersburg Grand Slam – a 2016 Olympic qualifier.
“We are pleased to welcome DripDrop as a partner of the AVP Tour,” said AVP Managing Partner Donald Sun. “As we gear up for another exciting summer of competition and the Olympics in 2016, the health and well being of our players is paramount. So it is reassuring to know that they will have a hydration solution on hand that really works.”
Developed by a Mayo Clinic trained physician, DripDrop fixes dehydration faster and more effectively than water, sports drinks, or pediatric solutions. It has been shown in a clinical study to hydrate 34% more effectively than water and 20% more effectively than a sports drink, and contains three times the electrolytes and half the sugar of most sports drinks.
“I am pleased to see more and more athletes, trainers, and coaches recognize dehydration for what it is – a medical condition that requires a medical solution,” said DripDrop founder, Dr. Eduardo Dolhun. “The fact is that most sports drinks contain too much sugar to be an effective hydration solution. DripDrop, as an Oral Rehydration Solution, can treat most cases of dehydration, whether caused by illness, heat, or excessive sweating.”
The AVP’s 2015 schedule includes seven tournaments in different regions of the U.S., from New York to Southern California. In its fourth year under the guidance of AVP Managing Partner Donald Sun, who purchased the tour in 2012, the AVP has expanded its property to include tour stops this season in New Orleans (May 22-24), New York (July 17-19), Seattle (Aug. 7-9), Manhattan Beach, Calif. (Aug. 14-16); Chicago (Aug. 28-30); Cincinnati (Sept. 4-6); and Huntington Beach, Calif. (Sept. 11-13).
The AVP is the exclusive domestic beach volleyball home of the nation’s top athletes, including Olympic gold medalists Kerri Walsh-Jennings (2004, 2008, 2012), Todd Rogers (2008) and Phil Dalhausser (2008); Olympic silver medalists April Ross (2012) and Jen Kessy (2012); two-time Olympians Jake Gibb (2008, 2012) and Sean Rosenthal (2008, 2012); and Olympian Nicole Branagh (2008).
