Comerica Center • Fri–Sat, Aug 8–9
Teams: L.A. Launch, Dallas Dream, Brooklyn Blaze, Miami Mayhem
Headlines
- Men: Launch and Dream are already in. The final berth is a straight fight: Mayhem vs. Blaze. Byes—including the 1-seed—are still in play.
- Women: Blaze are chasing a bye; Mayhem and Dream are playing to avoid seventh (elimination).
- League Cup: Launch must sweep 4–0 in Dallas to lift the Cup. Anything less and Palm Beach take it.
Men — team-by-team
L.A. Launch (5–1, 11 pts)
- Bye/1-seed: 2–0 → 7–1 = 1st overall.
- If they split (6–2): likely 3rd/4th on points behind idle Palm Beach (6–2, 18) and Nitro (6–2, 16) unless Dream jump them.
Dallas Dream (4–2, 12 pts)
- Qualified.
- Bye path: Two sweeps (→ 6–2, +6 pts) put them in the bye mix—and they can even threaten 1st if Launch don’t go 2–0 and the points break their way. Range: 1st–5th.
Miami Mayhem (2–4, 8 pts)
- To qualify: 2–0 → 4–4 = IN.
- At 1–1 (3–5): still alive; must finish ahead of Blaze (points break a 3–5 tie).
- 0–2: opens the door for a Blaze steal.
Brooklyn Blaze (1–5, 6 pts)
- Paths to qualify: 2–0 → 3–5 (then need Mayhem 0–2 or to beat Mayhem on points at 3–5); or 1–1 → 2–6 if Mayhem go 0–2 and Blaze win the points tiebreak at 2–6.
- Finish range: 6th–7th; they need help from Mayhem results/points.
Women — team-by-team
Brooklyn Blaze (5–1, 13 pts)
- Bye: 2–0 → 7–1 locks top-2; with two sweeps they can grab #1 over Aces (7–1) on points.
- Split (6–2): out of top-2; likely #3 behind Palm Beach (6–2, 18 pts).
L.A. Launch (4–2, 11 pts)
- Top-2 out of reach. Max 6–2 (≤17 pts) trails Passion’s 18; can’t reach 7–1.
- Target seed: 3–5, points decide the slot.
Miami Mayhem (2–4, 6 pts)
- To qualify: 2–0 → 4–4 clinches.
1–1 → 3–5 (3 wins for women automatically clinches a spot as NY is done with 1 win and SD is done with 2 wins).
0–2 → 2–6 drags them into a points fight with Smash and possibly Dream.
Dallas Dream (1–5, 5 pts)
- To qualify: 2–0 → 3–5 (Same as above; 3 wins automatically clinches)
- Or 1–1 if it’s a sweep win + 3-set loss (adds 4 pts) to edge Smash (2–6, 8 pts) on points.
- 0–2 → 1–7: eliminated.
League Cup — Dallas decides it
- L.A. Launch (9–3, 22 pts) must go 4–0 to finish 13–3 and take the Cup.
- Any slip → Palm Beach Passion (12–4, 36 pts) are champions.
