In the beach volleyball world, it’s common knowledge: April Ross and Alix Klineman are the A-Team. Not only is it their team nickname, but with six AVP wins and being named the 2018 Women’s Team of the Year, they really are the A-level team.
In another world of beauty, fashion, and reality TV, Kendall and Kylie Jenner are social media icons that dominate pop culture. Aside from their hit reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the Jenner sisters manage their own global clothing brand, Kendall + Kylie.
While it’s unlikely for Kendall and Kylie to set foot on a volleyball court, unless it’s for a photoshoot, these two powerhouse duos have more similarities than you might think. Here’s what we’ve found:
The name sticks.
“Kendall and Kylie” and “April and Alix” both roll off the tongue, and are easy to remember: “K&K” and “A&A.” Of course, not every partnership has this luxurious coincidence, but judging by the popularity of these duos…perhaps changing your name to match your partner’s is your key to success.
They’ve mastered the “Look.”
Aside from working well together, you have to look good together. This doesn’t seem to be a problem for either pair, because these ladies are experts in attracting attention at all angles, from their pose to coordinated outfits.
They love to travel.
For these duos, their success stretches beyond America. Kendall and Kylie travel internationally for fashion shows, fun, and brand promotion, while April and Alix travel as a team, competing to earn Olympic qualification points that will hopefully bring them to Tokyo in 2020. (Fun fact: April and Alix won their first tournament together in the Netherlands.)
Successful on their own, and together.
Both pairs are powerhouses together, but individually they are equally impressive.
- April is a two-time Olympic medalist herself, and Alix earned her title as AVP’s 2017 Rookie of the Year for quickly adapting to beach volleyball, after her outstanding indoor volleyball career as an All-American at Stanford University and on the Indoor National Team.
- Kendall is one of the world’s top-earning models, and Kylie, being the youngest self-made billionaire ever, is a new mother and founder of her extremely successful company, Kylie Cosmetics.
They are inseparable.
Whether biological sisters or not, both duos have a strong bond. Their love and understanding for one another is a key factor for what drives their success.
Alix and April are on the road to the Olympics and Kendall and Kylie are crafting next season’s fashion trend.
