It was hot and humid, and it also down poured rain… But the players fought amid the adversity, and the fans in Cincinnati stayed through it all.

On the men’s side it was a rematch from the AVP Salt Lake City finals. Ryan Doherty and Nick Lucena took on Casey Patterson and Jake Gibb. The results:

As they were seeded, the top two teams made it into the finals for the fifth straight event in a row. April Ross and Kerri Walsh Jennings met Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Sweat in the finals. The results:

This win for April and Kerri gave them their 26th consecutive match victory and 5th consecutive AVP tournament title this season. An undefeated season leaves many people wondering, which team will break this streak, or will April and Kerri carry this momentum into the AVP Atlantic City event?

Many teams flew straight to the east coast after Cincinnati to train and get ready for the next event this weekend. This event will take place Saturday and Sunday, with the qualifier being held on Friday.
