Chaim Schalk is a Canadian-American Olympian who represented Canada at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he and his partner recorded a memorable victory over Brazil in front of more than 15,000 fans. Before transitioning to beach volleyball, Chaim was an indoor setter and All-Canadian at Trinity Western University. In 2019, he officially became a USAV Beach Athlete and made his American debut by winning gold at the Dominican Republic NORCECA event.

Since joining the AVP, Chaim has captured titles in Seattle (2019), Hermosa Beach (2022), and New Orleans (2023), establishing himself as one of the sport’s top competitors. After competing for the Miami Mayhem in 2025, he now represents the New York Nitro in the AVP League while continuing his pursuit of representing the United States at a future Olympic Games.

Off the court, Chaim is a devoted father to his daughter, Koa, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, dog, and fiancée — fellow New York Nitro athlete Toni Rodriguez. He often shares that his mother gave him dual citizenship at birth, which allowed him to transition from representing Canada to competing for the United States.
