Miles started playing indoor volleyball during his sophomore year at Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara. He didn’t start playing club volleyball until his senior year at 17 years old. He then went to UCSB and played for two years before deciding to move to Hermosa Beach and pursue a pro beach volleyball career. He qualified for the first time at the 2016 AVP Huntington Beach Open and took 5th place with Curt Toppel. The season after, Miles started playing FIVB with Bill Kolinske. During the 2017 season, they placed 2nd in 1-star in Aalsmeer, 3rd in 2-star in Sydney, and earned a well-fought 9th place at a 4-star in China. He’s now been a staple on the AVP Tour for six seasons and looks forward to his new partnership with Chase Budinger in 2023 and beyond.
One of Miles’ favorite memories was at the 2019 Hermosa AVP with Ryan Doherty; they were down 9-14 in the freeze against Sean Rosenthal and David Lee, and they came back to win 16-14 to go to his first AVP Final. Outside of volleyball, Miles enjoys surfing and other outdoor activities. His favorite book is “It” by Stephen King.
