Growing up in a small town outside of Orlando, Aurora’s beach volleyball passion started early on her family’s two backyard courts. She played every chance she got and eventually became one of the first players in the country to earn a Division 1 beach scholarship. During her time at Florida State University, Aurora was team captain for all three of her years, earning two-time AVCA All-American and two-time team MVP honors. She still holds the records at FSU for most overall wins in a single season, best overall winning percentage in a single season, and most tournament wins overall. Aurora continued her success in her first season on the AVP in 2014, where she qualified 5 out of 6 attempts with 3 top 10 finishes and was recognized as the “CBS Sports Rising Star on the AVP.” However, in 2015 her dream of competing professionally conflicted with her dream of being a mom. Although it was definitely a challenge, motherhood didn’t stop her. Just four months after giving birth to her first child, Aurora qualified again for the AVP and has continued to do so after having all three of her children, one time returning to an AVP competition at seven weeks postpartum.

For Aurora, her family is an integral part of her team. They are a regular sight on the AVP; her husband Josh can often be found in the coach’s box, and her three daughters can be seen cheering her on from the sidelines, with grandma by their side. Aurora’s faith in God, dedication to the sport, and her family’s support have been key to her success on and off the court.
