Brandie Wilkerson was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, to a native Swiss mother and an American father from La Grange, Texas. She was raised in Toronto, Canada. As a multi-racial female athlete, Brandie has fallen in love with the power beach volleyball has in bringing a deeply diverse world together in a fierce, feminine, competitive, entertaining, and empowering way that goes beyond the sport. She competes on both the FIVB World Tour and AVP Pro Tour; she placed 5th at the Tokyo Olympic Games and is on the pathway to her second at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. In addition, Brandie recently finished 2nd at the FVIB 2022 World Championships and was awarded the 2018 FIVB Best Blocker in the World and the 2022 AVP Blest Blocker.

Off the sand, Brandie co-founded a not-for-profit scholarship program called Project Worthy Scholarship, aimed at increasing BIPOC representation in the Canadian volleyball community by directly funding athletes needing the most financial aid.
