Originally from Carmel, Indiana, Carly Skjodt (pronounced “Scott”) had no experience playing beach volleyball. She started playing indoor volleyball when she was 11 years old. Carly went on to play indoor at the University of Michigan for four years, where she was a 2x All-American and 2x team captain. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Carly moved to Southern California to play beach volleyball at Pepperdine University for her fifth year of eligibility. She ended up playing two seasons for Pepperdine after never playing before, earning first-team WCC. After graduating from Pepperdine, Carly stayed in Southern California to pursue beach volleyball full-time. In Carly’s rookie AVP season (2022), her best finish was third at AVP Central Florida.
Carly’s all-time favorite volleyball memory was making it to the NCAA Sweet 16 in her senior season at the University of Michigan.
