Chaim Schalk is a Canadian-American Olympian who earned ninth for Canada in Rio and now plans to represent the USA at the Olympics in the future. He’s been playing the sport for 10 years, first as an indoor setter and All-Canadian while playing for Trinity Western University. One of Chaim’s favorite volleyball memories was beating Brazil during the 2016 Rio Olympics in front of 15,000 fans. He has two AVP championships, one from Seattle in 2019 and one at Hermosa Beach in 2022. In October 2019, Chaim transitioned into a USAV Beach Athlete and made his American debut capturing a Gold Medal at the Dominican Republic NORCECA 2019. He’s now partnered with fellow Olympian Tri Bourne for the 2023 season and beyond.
Chaim is a proud father to his daughter Koa. One thing he wants his fans to know is that his mother gave him dual citizenship from birth, which is why he could transition from Canada to American volleyball. Chaim is a family man who spends most of his free time in nature with his daughter and dog.
