Chaim Schalk is a Canadian-American Olympian who earned ninth for Canada in Rio and now plans to represent the USA at the Olympics in the future. He’s been playing the sport for 10 years, first as an indoor setter and All-Canadian while playing for Trinity Western University. One of Chaim’s favorite volleyball memories was beating Brazil during the 2016 Rio Olympics in front of 15 thousand fans. He has one AVP championship from Seattle 2019, and five FIVB World Tour Medals at major events. In October 2019, Chaim transitioned into a USAV Beach Athlete and made his American debut capturing a Gold Medal at the Dominican Republic NORCECA 2019.
Chaim is a new father to his daughter Koa, with his AVP player wife Lane Carico Schalk. One thing he wants his fans to know is that he is not competing for the USA because of his American wife, but rather that his mother gave him dual citizenship from birth. Chaim is a family man who spends most of his free time in nature with his wife, daughter, and dog.
