Devon Newberry began playing beach volleyball at the age of 10, encouraged by her father, who believed she might find a passion for the sport. She played for UCLA, where she distinguished herself as a standout athlete. Over her tenure, she amassed 100 career wins, was named to the All-Pac-12 Team three times, and contributed to the team’s success as a three-time NCAA runner-up and two-time Pac-12 champion. Since turning professional, she has continued to excel, securing a 7th-place finish on the AVP Tour and achieving international success with a bronze medal at the Mexico Challenger and a gold medal at the New Zealand Futures.

Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Devon is deeply committed to the growth and development of beach volleyball. Among her most memorable career moments was her unexpected podium finish in Mexico, where she and her partner entered the tournament just a week prior and delivered an exceptional performance. Another pivotal influence in her journey was watching her coach and mentor, Kelly Reeves, compete on the AVP Tour. Having admired Reeves since childhood, Devon credits that inspiration with shaping her aspirations and solidifying her belief that a successful career in professional beach volleyball was within reach.
