Devon Newberry

Devon Newberry began playing beach volleyball at the age of 10 after her father encouraged her to try it. She went on to star at UCLA, where she recorded 100 career wins, earned three All-Pac-12 Team selections, helped lead the Bruins to three NCAA runner-up finishes, and won two Pac-12 championships.

Since turning professional, Newberry has continued to make her mark on the AVP and international stage. She earned second place at AVP Huntington Beach in 2026 with partner Savvy Cory. The Duo has also won 2nd and 3rd place internationally in 2026. Devon played for the San Diego Smash as an injury sub in 2025 and will compete with the Brooklyn Blaze in 2026.

One of the defining moments of Newberry’s career came in Mexico, where she and her partner earned a surprise bronze medal after entering the tournament just one week before competition. She also credits longtime coach and mentor Kelly Reeves as a major influence on her career. Watching Reeves compete on the AVP as a child inspired Newberry to pursue beach volleyball professionally and gave her the confidence that she could one day compete at the highest level.
