Geena Urango

Geena is the first-ever athlete to receive a full-ride scholarship for NCAA beach volleyball. She spent one year as a graduate student at USC after competing in indoor volleyball for four years, and has been a staple on the AVP for over a decade with nine career finals appearances.

She earned her first AVP victory at the 2022 Atlanta Gold Series and later captured her first AVP Contender title at the 2025 Denver Open. Geena has competed for the San Diego Smash across all three AVP League seasons, winning the Championship in 2024 and earning MVP honors in the first two AVP League seasons.

Outside of volleyball, Geena works in marketing and enjoys traveling and a wide range of outdoor activities, including surfing, snowboarding, pickleball, camping, and backpacking. She is also a pit bull advocate inspired by her dog, Zucca the Pit, and is passionate about female empowerment and Hispanic representation.
