Julia transitioned to beach volleyball midway through her collegiate athletic career after beginning as an indoor volleyball player at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Following multiple concussions at UNC, she shifted her focus to beach volleyball and transferred to the University of Hawai‘i, where she completed her undergraduate degree. Julia later finished her collegiate career at USC, earning All-American honors and helping lead the Trojans to back-to-back national championships while completing graduate school.
Julia made an immediate impact professionally, winning the Atlanta Gold Series with Geena Urango during her rookie season and earning 2022 AVP Rookie of the Year honors. In 2024, she captured the Manhattan Beach Open title alongside Betsi Flint. After competing for the LA Launch in 2024, Julia joined the Brooklyn Blaze in 2025, where she and partner Lexy Denaburg won the AVP League Championship. The Duo returns to the Brooklyn Blaze for the 2026 AVP League season.
Outside of volleyball, Julia enjoys spending time with her husband Drew, friends, and family, being active in her church community, and exploring the outdoors. She also loves biking, cooking, pottery, and spending time in the Bible with a good cup of coffee.
