Kaitlyn played indoor volleyball for four years at Ohio State University, where she was an outsider hitter and earned All-American in her senior year. She then transferred to the University of Arizona, where she played a fifth year of beach volleyball, having never played before. She became the U of A’s first Beach All-American alongside partner Madi Kingdom. She and her partner advanced to the AVCA Sand Pairs semifinals, losing to the 2015 champions Sara Hughes & Kelly Claes. After Arizona, Kaitlyn moved back to Ohio, where she completed her 3-year master’s program and became a Nurse Practitioner. In 2020, Kaitlyn and her husband moved from Ohio to Hawaii, and she began training on the beach full-time. In 2022, she paired up with Carly Kan, and together they played five Pro Series Main Draws. Her 2022 rookie season highlights were winning the Waupaca Tour Series, earning a gold medal at the La Paz NORCECA, and an AVP Denver 2nd-place finish. She also notched a record-breaking third set match against Sarah Pavan & Tina Graudina in AVP Chicago, losing a thrilling 31-33 third.
When Kaitlyn is not playing volleyball, she spends time outdoors with her husband and their 140 lb Newfoundland dog, Mowgli. Kaitlyn also works as a geriatric Nurse Practitioner in Hawaii.
