Became the youngest team to win an AVP event in September 2015 when she and Betsi Metter Flint won all five matches in claiming the title in Cincinnati. The duo was a combined 46 years, 4 months, 27 days. En route to the title Larsen and Metter Flint upset the tournament’s teams seeded second, third, fourth and sixth.
Larsen left Pepperdine as the sand program’s all-time winningest player with 101 victories. She was a two-time AVCA Sand Volleyball All-American and won the AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball National Team Championship in 2014 with Kellie Woolever. Larsen also played three seasons indoors for Pepperdine
What are your pre-game rituals?
Betsi and I like to do 2 different pre game rituals before a match. First, we like to play Speed (the card game) in the players tent before a match. It really gets our competitive juices flowing. It’s a fast game and really gets our mind awake and alert and ready to compete!
Second, we usually start off our pre-game 10 minute warm up with a race, sideline to sideline. It gets our blood pumping and gets us ready and excited to compete! So I’d say we are both quite competitive!
If you weren’t playing professional volleyball, what would your job be?
I have always wanted to have a career in medicine, as I find the human body to be fascinating! I would eventually like to go to PA school to become a Physician’s Assistant and specialize in orthopedics.
