Miles began playing indoor volleyball during his sophomore year at Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara and did not start club volleyball until his senior year at age 17. He went on to play two years at UC Santa Barbara before moving to Hermosa Beach to pursue a professional beach volleyball career full time.
Miles qualified for his first AVP Main Draw at the 2016 Huntington Beach Open, where he finished fifth with Curt Toppel. He later competed internationally with Bill Kolinske in 2017, earning a runner-up finish at a 1-star in Aalsmeer, third place at a 2-star in Sydney, and a ninth-place finish at a 4-star in China. In 2023, Miles teamed up with Chase Budinger, and the Duo quickly rose to the top of the sport, becoming Olympians and winning the inaugural AVP League Championship with the San Diego Smash in 2024. They continue together as the Smash Duo in the 2026 AVP League season.
One of Miles’ favorite memories came at the 2019 Hermosa Beach AVP with Ryan Doherty, when they came back from 9–14 in the freeze to defeat Sean Rosenthal and David Lee 16–14 and reach his first AVP final. Outside of volleyball, Miles enjoys surfing and other outdoor activities.
