Molly Shaw

Originally from Illinois, Molly Shaw transitioned to beach volleyball after being cut from her high school indoor team. She went on to become a two-time All-American at Grand Canyon University before moving to California just days after graduating in 2018 to pursue her dream of competing on the AVP.

Since turning professional, Molly has established herself as a consistent AVP Main Draw athlete, earning multiple semifinal appearances and continuing to rise through the professional ranks. Molly credits her unconventional path and the setbacks she faced early in her career for shaping her perspective and competitive drive, making every match and opportunity on the AVP especially meaningful. After competing for the Miami Mayhem in 2025, she joins the New York Nitro for the 2026 AVP League season.

Off the court, Molly enjoys life in California, spending time hiking and exploring the outdoors with her husband and fellow New York Nitro player James Shaw. Her favorite foods are breakfast foods — along with plenty of coffee.
