Troy first found his love for beach volleyball after watching the 2012 Olympics. From then on, Troy learned the sport by watching old AVP matches of the legends on YouTube: Sinjin Smith, Randy Stoklos, Tim Hovland, Mike Dodd, and Troy’s personal favorite, Karch Kiraly. Picking up the sport late, Troy began training for the AVP in 2016. He made his first Main Draw in 2017 and then had his breakout season in 2018. In early 2019 Troy and the McKibbin brothers were the first USA Snow Volleyball team and picked up a Gold and Silver Medal on the FIVB World Tour. The fun didn’t stop there, as the trio would add more top AVP athletes to their team and later became the first-ever 4 vs. 4 World Champions. Troy has yet to win his first AVP but is one of the most promising talents on Tour.
Troy was once a volunteer ball boy for an AVP event in Huntington Beach. He now makes it his goal to always interact with and thank every volunteer; you never know who they may end up being.
